SubSeal® Liquid Waterproofing Membrane
SubSeal® is a high solids, one part, ready-to-use, elastomeric waterproofing membrane which also functions as a sealant, stand-alone crack suppressant and moisture barrier for interior and exterior applications of hard surface, resilient and wood flooring.
Easily applied with a trowel, roller, brush or airless sprayer,SubSeal® bonds to the substrate with superior adhesion and meets ANSI A118.10 for thin-bed, load bearing waterproof membranes.
How It Works
SubSeal® cures to form a thin, flexible layer that is an impervious water barrier providing superior waterproofing protection. It can also be used with sheet-applied membrane systems for seam and corner applications such as shower pans, exterior decks and balconies.
SubSeal® can be used at floor-to-wall, wall-to-wall, and wall-to-ceiling joints, at drains and protrusions and at all perimeters. The membrane bonds to the substrate while creating a new surface to accommodate A118.4 or better latex mortars, organic adhesives and solvent-free epoxy setting materials.
SubSeal® reduces tile failure by protecting tile and other hard surface floors from substrate movement up to 1/8" while waterproofing underlying or adjacent building structures.
SubSeal® will bond directly to metal, stainless steel, PVC and ABS fixtures.
Uses
SubSeal® is perfect for areas such as, food courts, restaurants, balconies, decks, commercial kitchens, showers, lavatories, spa areas, parking decks, laundry rooms, and other areas needing above grade waterproof protection.
Use SubSeal® Liquid Waterproofing Membrane membrane over:
Concrete: Poured, pre-stressed and pre-cast concrete, concrete backerboard, mud beds, gypsum, lightweight concrete and patching compounds.
Wood: Exterior or exposure 1 plywood, APA-rated sheathing, Sturd-I-Floor, hardwood, tongue and groove and OSB with standard face. (Gap between sheeting as required.)
Other Substrates: Exterior decks and balconies, ceramic and porcelain tile, stone, terrazzo, VCT/VAT, metal, painted and sealed floors and floors damaged by dry shrinkage and structural movement.
Use SubSeal® Liquid Waterproofing Membrane under:
Thin & medium-bed mortar installations (ANSI A118.4) of ceramic, porcelain, stone, marble, slate, granite tile, pavers, brick, hardwood, manufactured wood, and commercial grade vinyl requiring integrated waterproofing. For other types of finished floors, check with manufacturer.
Coverage is based on two thin coats of SubSeal® and contingent upon type of applicator used, type of substrate and porosity of substrate. For highly absorptive surfaces additional coats may be required.
Refer to waterproofing applications in the current TCNA handbook for additional installation guide lines.
Sizes
SubSeal® is available in quarts, 1 gallon and 5 gallon pails
